THE MEKONG BEYOND THE FLOATING MARKET

5 hours and 30 minutes

Easy

Begin with breakfast on the river, then follow the Mekong beyond Cái Răng into hidden canals, family traditions and cacao beneath tropical trees.
Begin on the river as Cái Răng settles into its morning rhythm.
Breakfast arrives from a passing boat : steaming noodle soup, strong Vietnamese coffee and the quiet theatre of river trade unfolding around you. Then the main channel falls away, giving way to narrow canals, tropical gardens and homes close enough to glimpse everyday life beside the water.
Step into a family workshop where rice noodles are still shaped by hand, then continue beneath the trees to a cacao garden planted in the 1960s. Taste chocolate made here from fruit to finished bar, and hear the family story behind it.
A morning that begins with a famous market and leads somewhere far more personal.

Our adventure begins on 6:45 am at the meeting point: An Binh market-1a ĐT923, An Bình, Ninh Kiều, Cần Thơ, Việt Nam, with google map location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/dBrkH7SnoPV6xVP77.

Many online guides still suggest visiting the floating market at 4:00 or 5:00 AM, but this information reflects how the market operated decades ago.

Today, the market starts later and is usually at its liveliest between 7:00 and 9:00 AM. We have designed this experience so you can visit during the most active and authentic part of the morning, without waking up unnecessarily early.

Our convenient meeting point near the floating market also means less transfer time and more time experiencing life on the river.
